50 x 50 cm

acrylic and mixed media on stretched canvas.

This painting is about the remembrance, longing, and pain I feel as I remember the happy moments I had with my family and friends while living in Syria before we had to escape the country.

It expresses contradicted feelings and emotions that come with the bittersweet memories.

You can see some chaos reflecting those contradicted feelings.
The bold marks are more about the strength that keeps our hearts alive.

Harmonious colors are all about the faith and the inner peace we still have.

It is a painting that can speak to every human being looking for inner peace.

I used acrylics and mixed media because that makes me freer to express my emotions. I tried to use different mediums that all contribute to the overall feel and look of the painting.
